Teenage girl partners with her dad in making her Dream reality with Fruncherz Candy
Meet Orian, the 14-year-old Entrepreneur Behind Fruncherz Kosher Freeze Dried Candy
At just 14 years old, Orian has already made her mark as a young entrepreneur. With the support of her father, she founded Fruncherz, a company specializing in freeze-dried candy. Orian’s innovative twist on freeze-dried treats has been gaining popularity, and her freeze-dried candy is now available in many kosher restaurants and grocery stores in Cleveland, Atlanta, Detroit and soon New York. We sat down with Orian to learn more about her journey and why freeze-dried candy is quickly becoming a must-have sweet.
Q: Orian, how did you come up with the idea to start a freeze-dried candy business?
Orian: One day, I discovered freeze-dried candy and was amazed at how it transformed regular sweets into something even more exciting. The texture is lighter, and the flavors are so much more intense! I thought, “Why not start a business around this?” My dad loved the idea, and together we made it happen.
Q: What makes freeze-dried candy different from regular candy?
Orian: Freeze-dried candy is made using a special process that removes all the moisture from the candy without changing its flavor. This gives the candy a crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s really different from regular chewy candy. Plus, since there’s no moisture, it stays fresh for a long time, making it perfect for snacking, Shabbat Treat, or as a fun gift!
Q: Where can people find your freeze-dried candy?
Orian: You can find our candy online on our website for local and out-of-state shipping and local pickup options and in most kosher restaurants and grocery stores around Cleveland, we’re constantly expanding and are already in other cities. Please keep a look out as we’re adding new types of freeze-dried candy and flavors!
Q: What drove you to want to be an entrepreneur and what advice do you have for others that would like to be successful entrepreneurs?
Orian: My father’s positive influence on me and seeing this spark of entrepreneurial spirit in me led him to introduce me to books such Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and The Thrillionaire by Nik Halik, and many more. Having conversations with my father about my future, I knew that my calling was to create a business and be my own boss. I want to be independent, create opportunities, and help others learn how to achieve success.
